PDO threads

PDO threads can be used for skin tightening, lipolysis and lifting of the face.  In clinic today we used a variety of threads to treat the lower face, jaw line and peri-oral lines.  The procedure is invasive but it has a short downtime and is associated with minimal and infrequent complications.

Today we inserted a selection of threads into the dermis, placing monofilaments over the jaw line in a lattice-work arrangement.  Secondly, placing screws into the dermis above the top lip to treat the peri oral lines.  This treatment is aimed at skin tightening, skin rejuvenation, beautification, enahancement, improving texture and tone of the skin and creating a youthful appearance.

10 Point Thread Lifting

PDO thread LiftLooking forward to further PDO thread Lift and combined cog training this Saturday. At face Perfect clinic we offer the treatment PDO threads but are now able to provide many more treatments using PDO threads.

We will be focussing on the PDO 10 and 5 point cog lift treatments.

From this training we will be offering treatments for the jawline, neck, double chin area, and also focussing on the eyea area.  The PDO threads can aso be used for skin tightening and lifting around the eyes.  The PDO threads would help reduce the wrinkles directly under the eyes which botox and fillers can not treat.

The Myths and Truths about Chemical Peels

Chemical skin peels have been around for a while

Chemical skin peels have been around for a while. In fact, the use of skin peels can be traced back to ancient civilizations such as Egypt, Rome and Greece.

Their popularity has continued into the current day, despite the growing popularity of injections such as Botox or dermal fillers for anti-aging. However, facial peels are sometimes presented, (especially in the media) in ways that can be misleading. The fact is that facial peels vary broadly in their effectiveness, and the amount of downtime they entail. Patients who understand what to expect are more likely to be satisfied with the result of their procedure. Because there are so many different kinds of chemical peels, it is easy to get confused about how they actually work. Therefore, discover the truth about these five chemical peel myths.

Myth 1: After a chemical peel your skin will be bright red. Truth: There are many different types of peels offered, some are mild with no downtime and others are much deeper. The milder peels include alpha and beta hydroxyl peels, which show no noticeable exfoliation or redness, while the deeper peels are more powerful and may show visible peeling and redness.

Myth 2: Chemical peels result in scarring and raw skin. Truth: If a skilled skin care expert performs the peel, permanent scarring will not be a problem. Redness and peeling are normal with deeper peels, but today there are numerous superficial options available as well as advancements in cosmeceutical formulas that reduce inflammation and rebuild and heal the skin. The long-term effects of the peels are healthier, smoother, and more youthful-appearing skin.

Myth 3: Chemical peels are only beneficial for those with problematic skin. Truth: Chemical peels can be beneficial for most skin types including sensitive skin. Chemical peels not only treat problem prone skin, but they can also be preventative as well. The normal rate of skin cell turnover is between 21-28 days. Depending on the amount of damage in skin, this rate tends to slow down, usually starting in late 20's. By receiving a very mild skin peel at Face Perfect Clinic, such as the alpha and beta hydroxyl acids which are both superficial peeling treatments, the cellular turnover will be increased to stimulate healthy cell growth while exfoliating dead cells.

Myth 4: Chemical peels thin the skin over time. Truth: Superficial chemical peels stimulate the formation of collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid, which actually make the skin thicker over time. No matter how many times the skin is exfoliated to remove epidermal skin cells, they will be replenished. Medium-depth and deep peels affect the dermis, which does not have stem cells. Because of this, it is possible to over-exfoliate or thin the skin. This is an unlikely occurrence considering the time between deep peels, and the fact is that most people receive a deep peel only once or twice in their lifetime.

Myth 5: Chemical peels cannot remove wrinkles, only acne scars and spots.  Truth: This is incorrect. Most chemical peels can remove not only age spots and acne scars, but may also remove fine lines and wrinkles, sun-damaged skin and freckles as well. In summary, a chemical peel performed by an expert can dramatically improve the appearance of the skin on the face, hands, neck and décolletage. A skin peel can leave your skin looking smoother, and above all healthier, so be sure to contact us for any further information about our service for skin peels in Leeds.
