Anti-Wrinkle Treatments at our Leeds City Centre Clinic…

Anti-wrinkle injections using Botox

Our anti-wrinkle treatment is a revolutionary wrinkle reduction procedure. It can reduce or eliminate wrinkles in the face including forehead lines, frown lines between the eyebrows and crows feet around the eyes, smokers lines, dimpled chin, bunny lines, gummy smile and platysmal bands.

It is not surgery. There is no chance of scarring. It is a safe and effective treatment.

Treatment is administered by injection therapy. It acts by blocking the nerve impulses directed towards all the muscles in which it is injected.  This prevents muscles from contracting, leading to a temporary and gradual reversible paralysis.

In the 1980’s botulinum toxin type A was used to treat patients with cross-eyes, and uncontrollable blinking and years later it was found that botulinum toxin could be used to treat a range of medical problems and was found to have a use in the cosmetic field for the reduction and temporary elimination of lines in the frown area.

How does Botox work?

Botulinum toxin type A is a neurotoxin protein. It works by blocking the release of a chemical, acetylcholine, which is responsible for the contraction of muscles, leading to a temporary and gradual reversible paralysis.

Are there different types of Botulinum Toxin type A?

There are three types of Botulinum toxin type A (Botox, Xeomin, Azzalure). At Face Perfect Clinic in Leeds, we use Botox which is manufactured by Allergan, a world leader in surgical and non-surgical cosmetic treatments.
