Dermaplaning is a non-invasive treatment that involves lightly exfoliating the surface of your skin to gently remove dead skin cells, vellus hairs or ‘peach fuzz’, and debris and oil build-up to leave it visibly smoother and lighter.
Dermaplaning simply uses a very fine scalpel to remove old skin and thin hair on the face gently. This treatment is non-invasive, meaning it does not penetrate the skin, so it is a highly efficient yet beautiful treatment. You don’t even need topical numbing agents or preparation for this treatment – just a simple facial cleanse before we begin.
This treatment is perfect for those looking to enhance their skin quality naturally without drawing immediate attention to it, but some clients may not be suitable for it. If you have active acne, psoriasis, dermatitis, or eczema, dermaplaning is not suitable for you. Instead, one of our skin specialists may be able to advise on a different course of treatments and skincare to ease the concerns you may have.
There are very mild side effects to dermaplaning, and they usually recede after 24 hours. Side effects can include mild swelling, redness, and irritation, though no downtime or time off work is required for this treatment. To ease any of these side effects we may experience, we will apply a soothing treatment afterward to ensure optimal healing for your skin.
Whilst this treatment yields visible results after just one appointment, we do advise that in order to prolong and maintain these results for longer than you have a course of up to 6 treatments. This ensures that we can continue to strengthen and exfoliate your skin safely and over time to keep your complexion glowing from within.
