How To Choose Who Performs Your Anti-Wrinkle Treatments

We believe that everyone should be informed about who should be performing their Anti-Wrinkle treatments. Sadly, not every practitioner you come across is going to be as honest as we are at Face Perfect Clinic, but we want to keep our clients safe and informed. If you’re considering Anti-Wrinkle treatments in Leeds, here’s what you need to know about your injector before you book your treatment with them.

The injector: are they a qualified medical professional?

Botox is a prescription-only medication, so your injector must be medically qualified to perform your treatment. Nurse Prescribers are medical professionals who are qualified to prescribe their own Botox treatments, and those who aren’t qualified as prescribers can still perform treatment once it has been approved by someone who is qualified to prescribe. Ask your practitioner if they’re a qualified medical professional (dental hygienists don’t count in this regard) and if they’re not, they legally shouldn’t be performing your treatments for you. At Face Perfect Clinic in Leeds, our team is exclusively made up of medical professionals, so you know you are in safe and certified hands.

The consultation: what did it feel like?

You can find out a lot about an injector by how they conduct your consultation. If they rush you, make you feel pressured into having the treatment, dodge your questions, or simply don’t give you an opportunity to ask any, this should be a warning sign to you. Like any injectable treatment, we naturally expect that you will have questions about your Botox treatment, and we give you plenty of time to ask any questions you may have and we will always answer honestly. We’ll never rush your decision, instead, we let you take some ‘cooling-off’ time of around 2-3 days, so you can decide for yourself whether this treatment is for you.

The clinic: is it a clean medical environment?

This isn’t so much about the waiting area, but about the clinical rooms themselves. When you’re invited to see the clinical room, or when you ask to see one, take note of how clean it looks. Is there a medical waste bin? Is there a fridge for safe Botox storage? Is there packaging or used clinical needles on the surfaces? Botox is a medical aesthetic treatment, so the room you receive treatment in needs to be clean and sterile in order for it to be considered safe and appropriate for this kind of treatment. We take our clients’ safety very seriously, so this is always something you can expect from us.
