If you haven’t heard of Profhilo, where have you been? It’s a beautiful regenerative treatment that helps revive ageing and sagging skin that has thinned due to the natural ageing process. Known as an injectable moisturiser, Profhilo is many people’s best-kept skincare secret…
What is Profhilo for?
Profhilo is a hyaluronic acid treatment that is placed beneath the surface of the skin, but it should not be confused with filler. Where dermal filler is injected to create structure and augment features of the face, Profhilo is intended to stimulate your skin cells so they themselves improve and restore firmness to the skin. It encourages your skin cells to fortify themselves by themselves, rather than to build out a new shape or contour.
This is why it is known as an injectable moisturiser because it boosts and hydrates the skin whilst encouraging it to remodel its own signs of ageing.
Hyaluronic acid molecules are typically too large to be absorbed through the skin’s surface barrier, the epidermis, so therefore they work far better when injected. Many high street skincare brands claim to contain hyaluronic acid, but they won’t be as effective as a direct injectable treatment that can be properly utilised by the skin cells beneath the surface. We took a look at the good, the bad, and the ugly of skincare ingredients so you know what to avoid and what to talk to your practitioner about.
Who is Profhilo for?
If you’re someone who isn’t looking to augment their facial features – i.e. you’re not seeking to change the appearance, however subtle, of your features – but are rather looking to improve your skin’s quality and all the benefits that come with that, then Profhilo is for you.
Profhilo can be used to treat areas such as:
- The face
- Neck
- Décolletage
Why Profhilo is seasonal skincare must have
Profhilo is incredibly popular during the autumn/winter months because of its intense hydrating benefits. Literally helping you achieve a glow from within when the weather and temperature are fighting against it has helped many people enjoy vibrant, healthy, moisturised skin during these colder seasons. It can be used for the skin of all ages, so those mature clients who would like subtle and natural volume restored to the skin receive the same beneath-the-skin treatment as younger clients who are seeking improvement to their overall complexion.
Again, this is not to be confused with dermal fillers. Though both injectable treatments do use hyaluronic acid, Profhilo is one of the highest concentrations of injectable HA available in medical aesthetics. This means it is not intended for and therefore does not achieve augmentation and facial feature enhancement, instead of enhancing your skin’s health in both complexion and quality.
A course of Profhilo treatments will help you add natural bounce and youthful light to your skin without unnecessarily altering your appearance, a beautiful in-between of youthful results without augmentation.
