JULAINE is an injectable PLLA collagen stimulator, sometimes also described as a collagen bio-activator.

PLLA stands for poly-L-lactic acid. It is a biodegradable material used in aesthetic medicine because it can encourage the skin to produce more collagen.

Traditional dermal fillers create much of their effect by placing a hyaluronic acid gel beneath the skin to restore volume or change facial contours. JULÄINE™ works differently. Its tiny PLLA particles, known as microspheres, stimulate fibroblasts, the cells in the skin responsible for making collagen.

As your skin gradually produces new collagen around the treated area, its underlying support can improve progressively.

This means the aim is to encourage your own tissue to rebuild some of the structural protein it naturally loses with age.

Collagen is one of the main structural proteins in the skin. It helps give skin strength and support. As we age, changes in collagen, elastin, facial fat and the deeper structures of the face can contribute to thinner skin, reduced firmness and more visible folds.

JULÄINE™ contains highly uniform, biodegradable PLLA microspheres. These are very small particles designed to sit within the treated tissue and trigger a collagen response.

Once injected, they stimulate fibroblasts, the cells that make collagen. The PLLA is gradually broken down by the body while the newly produced collagen contributes to the developing result.

Because this process takes time, the final JULÄINE™ result doesn’t appear immediately. Improvement develops progressively as your collagen response builds.

Treatment Day
JULÄINE™ is injected according to your personalised treatment plan. Some temporary redness, swelling or tenderness around the injection sites can occur.

First Few Days
Any initial swelling should begin to settle. This early swelling isn’t the final result.

Weeks 4 to 8
Your collagen response is developing and early improvements may start to become noticeable.

Around 8 to 12 Weeks
Changes can become easier to see as more collagen develops. Published JULÄINE™ research found measurable improvement over this period, although individual responses vary.

Following Your Treatment Course
Results can continue to develop as your collagen response matures. Your practitioner will assess whether any additional treatment or review is appropriate.
